Forrest Jinks has over 15 years of real estate experience throughout the Western United States, with a primary focus on Northern California over the past several years. Specializing in real estate as an “alternative investment”, Forrest has served as the lead investor in over 100 million dollars of real estate transactions, ranging from single-family homes to large retail centers. Projects include retail development and redevelopment, office repositioning, in-fill residential development, bulk residential transactions, apartment development and repositioning, and various types of single-family exchanges. Prior to founding Altus, Forrest was President of Expowth, Inc., a three-division company focused on real estate development, distressed property acquisition, and property preservation. Forrest’s core competencies lie in investment identification, unleashing hidden value, financial modeling and instruments, investor relations, partner and supplier relations, and project management. He received his B.S. from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo and holds a California Real Estate Broker’s License.

Andrew joined Altus Equity in February of 2017 following 16 years working in and around the financial markets, the last ten spent overseeing the Operations of Securities Broker-Dealers.  Years spent working with multiple assets classes, adjusting to changing business models, and seeking dynamic solutions to problems facing the Investor, have given Andrew an eye for detail, proven communication skills, and a determination to find investment value in the marketplace.  A background of success, ranging from Corporate Finance with a Fortune 500 company, to the lively and uncertain world of a Securities Trader, has provided Andrew with a unique perspective and skillset that he’s eager to apply to the opportunities facing Altus today.  A resident of Austin, Texas for over 17 years, Andrew was born, raised and educated in Iowa, earning a B.B.A in Finance from the University of Iowa.  He holds FINRA Series 7, 24, and 57, as well as several state securities licenses.

Rich has more than 25 years of business experience, spending the last fifteen years of his career working in commercial real estate and development.  Rich co-led the DynaSolar team in successfully installing one billion dollars of renewable assets (solar/wind) for the Capital Dynamics Clean Energy Infrastructure Fund. Previously, Rich became a CPA and worked for private venture capital funded companies, including Triformix, Lightlogic (sold to Intel in 2001) and Obsidian (sold to Applied Materials in 1999). He has developed, implemented, and executed business plans to grow as well as restructure companies to meet operating and financial targets. He has extensive experience with M&A and fundraising, including debt and private equity financing. Rich attended Santa Clara University, where he received his MBA, and California Polytechnic at San Luis Obispo, where he studied business finance. He is also a CCIM (Certified Commercial Investment Member).

Raised, educated and spending the majority of his career in the State of Ohio, Michael Adler relocated to Sonoma County in 2005. For more than four decades, Michael has held countless roles, from entrepreneur, businessman, investor, philanthropist, to political activist. As a businessman and entrepreneur, Michael served as a primary shareholder and Chief Executive Officer of two public companies and half a dozen private enterprises, including CEO of the largest franchising photo retailer in North America (450 locations).

Michael’s keen sense of strategy coupled with creative problem solving skills and strong listening ability, has led many to coin him a “resourceful deal maker” and “financial engineer”. He loves people and win-win relationships. Since moving to Santa Rosa eight years ago, Michael has been an active investor and mentor to early stage companies and serves as a Board Member for the North Bay Angels, an early stage Angel Investment Association based in Sonoma County. He received his B.S. and J.D. degrees at Ohio State University.

Mark Nelson joined Altus Equity in August of 2013 and has spent the last three decades starting, building, repurposing and investing in businesses in the managed services, staffing, real estate, technology and financial industries. Prior to the 2009 founding of The Mark Nelson Group, an entrepreneurial capital, advisory and consulting firm, Mark served twenty plus years at the Nelson Family of Companies (NFC), a workforce management and talent acquisition company. While serving as the President and Chief Operating Officer, NFC increased revenue from $56 million to nearly $400 million, while offering a host of new products and services in the human capital space.

Mark has served as an advisor to companies like Google, Sony Computer Entertainment, Clorox, Bank of America, Cisco Systems, Redwood Credit Union and others. He currently serves as a Director and Strategic Advisor to privately held startup Taxtoken, Inc. located in Washington DC and Tavelli Co. based in Santa Rosa, CA. He is also the published author of “Way of Zing, A Guide to Aligning Work & Life”.  Mark holds a B.S. from the University of San Francisco and is a Certified Public Accountant.
